About the Weight & Height Converter
What this tool does
Unit conversion removes friction when recipes, clinics, devices, or travel use different measurement systems.
This converter only changes how a value is expressed. Your underlying height or weight does not change.
What inputs are required
- A weight value with a source unit (kg, g, lb, or oz), or
- A height value with a source unit (cm, m, in, ft, or feet+inches).
How the result is calculated
- Values are converted through precise SI-compatible factors used by the DoseFirst calculation package.
- Results are rounded for readable display while keeping conversion internally consistent.
- No BMI or health classification is applied during conversion.
What the result means
- The output is the same physical quantity in another unit system.
- Use converted values as inputs to other Body & Weight tools when those tools expect a specific unit.
- Rounding at display time can create tiny differences if you convert back and forth repeatedly.
Important limitations
- Display rounding is not measurement error from a scale or stadiometer.
- Device accuracy still depends on your scale or measuring method.
- Conversion does not validate whether a measurement is clinically plausible.
When professional guidance may be useful
- For clinical dosing or charting, follow the unit conventions required by your care team or facility.
- When accuracy matters, measure with calibrated equipment rather than converting an uncertain estimate.
